? Re: IVF E2 levels

Hey, this is a quick post b/c we are heading out the door.

My b/w on baseline was 75 they said that was too high.  So, they had me do some ganirelix shots and got me to 10, which they were happy with.  I am on day 4 of stims and my E2 today was 85, they said it is too low and are upping my meds from 75IU of Follistim to 225 + the menapur.  

Anyone know what the E2 level should be? Or if this is a big deal or not???  This is my first IVF cycle and of course I want to be perfect, but come on...we all know why we are here...it just isn't easy.

 I am thankful for all the follies we saw today, I just need the 3 larger ones to let the little ones catch up.

Hey cycle buddy!  I was wondering how your first monitoring appt. went.  While I don't know exactly what level your RE is looking for, I can tell you that my levels during IVF #1, when I was doing the same meds as you (no MDL), at day 3 (2 nights of stims), my E2 was only 16, down from 18.  My first full monitoring appt. wasn't until day 7 (6 nights of stims) for some reason, and my E2 was 228 at that point and the RE increased my dosage of both meds. 

I was able to get my u/s report from the nurse while I was there today, but I'm still waiting for a lab report and dosage for tonight.  On this cycle, my E2 after 4 full days of 2x daily MDL and 2 nights of stims was 51, so I'm curious to see how high it is today.  I'll likely be increasing my dosage as well tonight, so you won't be alone in that regard!

What did your ultrasound show in regard to follies?  I just finished posting my report in another thread, if you're interested in comparing notes.

I posted my follies above in your thread, but I have 3 that are ahead at 1113mm and then 12 or more that are 79 on each ovary. The nurse said we might have to sacrifice the lead follie, bc it will prob be over mature. What was your experience with this the first IVF you did?

I will be very interested to hear what your E2 is today and what your RE says about it.

My E2 was 185 today (it was 51 on Monday), and I'll actually stay on my same dosages tonight and tomorrow, but like I said before, during my first IVF, my dosages went up after my first follie check.  For what it's worth, it also went up one more time after the 2nd one as well, before dropping back down.  I have all my numbers from last time and this time in a spreadsheet, so if you really want to know the specifics, I'm happy to share it with you.

I (luckily) don't have any experience with a lead follie yet.  During IVF #1, they stayed pretty close in size the whole way there.  There were no big gaps between sizes for the most part.  I had 10 between 15 ad 20.5 at trigger, and the rest were 12 and under, so none really took the lead.  If you end up having to sacrifice one to get several more, I wouldn't worry about it.

It sounds like things are going really well so far, and you've got a ton of follies to work with.  FWIW, if you can do it, I find it really helpful to have the nurse fax over my results every time.  That way I can make sure I have all the info and know it's correct, vs. what I might write down.  I'm lucky enough to have a fax machine in my office, and my nurse is super nice about always faxing me.
