I don't think the day after thanksgiving should be a holiday. I think Christmas Eve should be instead.
It's actually a holiday? It's not at the bank I work for... Want to clue them in? haha!
HA! Funny thing is...I work for ADP (payroll processing company) and because it isn't a bank holiday we have to work too - and I'm not in the payroll department! We only get bank holidays off so I have to use a vacation day tomorrow. If it wan't a holiday for everyone else then we wouldn't have the Black Friday madness and I wouldn't feel obligated to take a vacation day...it's win win!
I dont like seeing babies in just thier diapers or with their diapers showing. (Emily is wearing just a diaper right now as she finishes eatting before I give her a bath)
I dont drink anything cold, ever. I like my water room temperature and everything else I drink. Going along with that I also dont drink coke or soda...whatever you call it. My drink choices are water, tea, coffee.....occasionally oj. That is it.
Oh and I hate marshmellows. ALL because I ate a million roasted marshmellows when we were camping when I was little and threw them up.....I cant eat one now without gagging.

I hate winter jackets. No matter what kind. I feel like Ralphy's brother and I can't put my arms down. I prefer vests but they're not always appropriate. I sometimes forfeit a jacket altogether and suck it up and freeze a little bit. I componsate with Uggs, if my feets is warm my body stays warm. This makes me miss being pregnant, Kevin kept me extra warm. Being preggs during the winter rocks!

THIS!!!!!!!!!! Agreed. This past summer, I was in the grocery store, and there was a baby in just s diaper. Um hello... I wear more than my underwear when I leave the house, your baby should too!!! And I keep extra clothes in my car just in case of a diaper blow out or whatever, so there's no excuse. I even have DD wear a onesie under regular long sleeved shirts - mostly bc I dont want her tummy hanging out, but also bc I dont want to see diapers. Ugh.
I think babies are adorable with pacifiers in their mouths. As long as its the right pacifier. I prefer Avent.

It's actually a holiday? It's not at the bank I work for... Want to clue them in? haha!
According to the State of Maryland (my employer), we are given off Friday because it is American Indian Heritage Day. Because apparently they needed to name it something instead of just saying "hey, we're closed the day after Thanksgiving because none of our employees would show up anyways."
My UO - I don't like pumpkin. No pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, pumpkin lattes or anything for me!! As I have a pumpkin pie baking in the oven and two pumpkin rolls I made earlier today cooling on the stove...
Oh and I hate marshmellows. ALL because I ate a million roasted marshmellows when we were camping when I was little and threw them up.....I cant eat one now without gagging.
I completely understand. I hate cookie dough anything. Same reason. People think I'm weird.
I don't think the day after thanksgiving should be a holiday. I think Christmas Eve should be instead.
I think Christmas eve should be a holiday. DH is working Friday because it's an office only day and he loves those (he works at social security and deals with the public on a daily basis - the angry public who have a problem...)
So he loves days where he can just do his paperwork. Plus most of the office took off - so it'll be a quiet stress free day. He took off today instead.
As of right now - he will work Christmas eve. Sometimes though, fed employees are granted that day off closer to the day - so I hope that happens.
I hate Walmart. They are all smelly and dirty to me. I prefer Target.
Me tooooo! High five, girl.
I think Allison believes that Target is her second home...we spent so much time there while I was on maternity leave and are there about 2x a week now!
According to the State of Maryland (my employer), we are given off Friday because it is American Indian Heritage Day
According to the State of Tennessee (my employer), the Governor makes the decision to either give us Columbus Day, or the day after Thanksgiving. For all the years I've worked for the state, we've never had Columbus Day off...we've ALWAYS gotten the day after Thanksgiving. Also, when our Holiday Schedule comes out for the year, it's always just listed as Christmas Day and New Years Day, but we always end up getting the "Eves" too.
Maybe I should be saving this for MIL Friday - but she wants my mom (my fam is joining us at the in laws) to make a homemade pumpkin pie just so they can keep it for FIL. We will already have a pumpkin pie that FIL is "heating up" (It's Sara Lee). She's already making a side dish anyway! My parents are dirt poor and use the food bank to feed themselves - but by all means, make a pie just so we can not eat it and save it for themselves. I decided not to tell her to make it...oops.
This happened last year too. I brought a pumpkin pie (and I loove pumpkin pie!) They didn't cut mine so I went to take it home and MIL threw a fit! But then she reconsidered cuz I had said when I got there "It's Sara Lee! So it's from me! Made it myself!" (This is a family joke because my name is actually Sarah Leigh - my family would have laughed. FIL thought I literally made if from scratch! lol) Well - because he thought that - I got to take it home since I worked so hard on it. Score for me!
Yeah - that wasn't an UO...hmmm...I can't stand the show Caillou...why is he bald and 3 - 4 years old?! I guess that's possible but it just kind of irritates me. Even his baby sister has a shnitload of hair!
I don't think the day after thanksgiving should be a holiday. I think Christmas Eve should be instead.
The President of the company I work for is pretty awesome. He doesn't want to work on Christmas Eve or the day after Thanksgiving so he doesn't think anyone else should either so we're closed.

I'm jealous! We're getting the "Eves" this year and next to make up for the couple years of furloughs we had to take. But normally I would have to work them unless I take off.

What? I'm sorry if your in-laws are otherwise nice people that you love, but this is so rude! It's one thing if you bring it to eat for dinner and you don't get to it, but to expect your guests to bring something that you have no intention of eating at the meal, but are saving for yourselves for later?
It just gets ruder if they know that your parents use a food bank.
Sorry, I don't know why, but this really irked me for some reason.

I hate chalkboard paint and think anyone who uses it to craft or {godforbid} paints an actual wall with it is absolutely insane. I get that it's probably fun for a playroom, but UGGGGGGGGGG I CANNOT STAND CHALK and would keel over and die if there was an actual wall dedicated to chalk-drawing in my home. When I see crafts on Pinterest that call for chalkboard paint, I get the shudders.
My UO is I hate turkey too. It's just dry and nasty!
My sister makes the most amazing turkey. It's buttery, and juicy, and... yum!!! She's not in charge of the turkey for Thanksgiving this year, but she's making one at Christmas. I'll share. (a little bit)
I hate Walmart. They are all smelly and dirty to me. I prefer Target.

Word. I do not do Walmart.
Same here!
I haven't had the pleasure here in Canada yet. But when I'm over the border, I absolutely LOVE Target! I can't wait for Feb'13 when Target opens here ... I hope I'm not disappointed!
I I could make the same salary as I make now working at a restaurant, I'd do it. All through HS and college I made subs and pizzas and loved it. Working in an office is for the birds. I like to labor.

Yeah - my MIL kinda has no filter and doesn't realize what she says is kinda ridiculous/hurtful sometimes. They do know how little money they have. But all I had said was "My mom was thinking of making a pumpkin pie from scratch, but I told her no cuz FIL said we didn't need it". Then she was all like, "no we need more desserts - tell her to make it. If we don't eat it we'll just keep it for FIL - he loves those". It turned into FIL fighting with her that we don't need it and since she doesn't eat them, he has to and he gets fat. lol! Love FIL!

Ok, I have one...or so it seems that it's UO. I think the decals on a car "In Memory Of..." are kind of dumb. Did that person leave you that car in their will? You're memoralizing a person by decaling your car? Did they love 'that' car? I guess I just don't get it! If the deceased loved 'that' kind of car, of maybe they left the car to the person now driving it, ok, MAYBE...umm, no, I still think it's silly.
I I could make the same salary as I make now working at a restaurant, I'd do it. All through HS and college I made subs and pizzas and loved it. Working in an office is for the birds. I like to labor.
I agree! My general UO in life is that I loved being a waitress more than any job I have ever had and would love to do it again.

Completely agree! I always want to say "so you're dedicating your rusty old clunker to the loving memory of your family member/friend/spouse? How does that honor them?!"
