Those names are horrendous spelled that way. Correctly, I like them. 

P.S Adeline can still be NN "Addy"... My name is Emily, and when I was young, people called me Emmy. That doesn't mean my name is spelled Emmyelee.   

I see the spelling adeline and think its horrendous. Thanks for your unneccesary opinions ladies, I already made my decision which us why my post was deleted.

Unnecessary opinions? You are the one who asked for everyone's opinion. Don't post something if you don't really want to hear a difference from your own opinion.

The funny thing is that I deleted it about 5 mins after it was posted, and it had NO REPLIES. If people had already started replying, then it would still be there. I posted it on the march board as well and there's no one there being a little crybaby about it being deleted. The OP of this thread is insane. Period, end of story.

I disagree 100 in thinking that the way she spells it makes her uneducated or trashy. The different spelling makes her unique and different, my name is Janie but my mom wanted to spell it 'Jayney' that's different and I have to say I would much rather have to correct people on my name every time they ask then for them to just know and think its the same old thing! I do think you should choose a unique spelling!

Sorry, but "trashy" is an apt description. By all means, name your baby like she is trash.

You can name your child "Adaline/Adeline Nicole" and still call her "Addy." Or you can just put a G-string and some pasties on her and name her "Addylene Nichole." Go for it! Besides, no one tells someone to their face that their name is/is spelled trashy -- so she will probably never know what people really think.

Please at least use a capital letter in the beginning, unless you really are going for a uneek spelling.

Well I'm not saying those studies are completely wrong but I always tested very high in the spelling/reading areas. Plus, my self esteem was never affected by the spelling of my name, if anything, it heightened it. I think the meaning of a name has more of an effect on someone then the spelling of their name. Just saying.

Too bad that there isn't a meaning for Addylynn or Addylene. Unless of course you're saying she can make that up too?

Although so many people pronounce my name wrong and spell it wrong, it's spelled properly and it means Believer of God. Imani (EE-Mah-NEE)--- not Emony, Emane, Emoney, Ahmani, Amani. Although you think your giving a child a unique name, it is irritating to correct it all the time and spell it right for others. Adeline is beautiful. Addylene makes my chest hurt. Kenleigh is a hell of a lot better then Addylene but she will have to spell it out A LOT and correct some. I'm sure of that. Just know if proper names can be butchered sometimes, that's a given that unique names will be 9 times out of 10.
