Breastfeeding

2 questions...

I'm flying with DD for the first time Thursday and had a couple of questions. First whats the longest breast milk can stay in the fridge and then be given to LO. Second question is if I give dd a bottle in the plane and she doesn't finish it how long is it good for after that. Or do I have to throw it out? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the reply. So even if I heat up a bottle I can put it back in the cooler for the next feeding and then heat it again?

  • It is good for up to a week in the fridge and can be reused once after heating. My milk never stayed good beyond about 36 hours though. It smelled and tasted bad. I think it depends on the woman.

  • I think this largely depends on the woman. My milk sours when I freeze it (too much lactase?). I've kept a bottle out for 4 hours and it was fine to give her. The longest I can keep a bottle in the fridge is a day. Just give it the sniff/taste test.
