To have a son.....
If I don't get the diaper just right and make sure he is pointing down pees all the way up his out fit. Or out the side or poops up the back.... Em never had these issues unless the diaper was too small. Plus the whole peeing on me stuff and farting at diaper changes which I do laugh at still.
Now the whole game will change next week when he get circumsized and I feel like a horrible mommy for a week or so while he heals.
So mommies who have already done the boy part healing stuff any advice?
Re: so this is what its like
LOL Pottermommy!!! That cracks me up -- I think I'd die of embarassment, too!! LOL!
As for your question.. as Esd said -- vaseline on gauze swabs worked GREAT! I would put gobs of vaseline on little swabs, fold them football style, and keep them in a container near his changing table so they were already prepared! Within a few days, it was fine!
Luckily my DS healed pretty quickly - I just fallowed the advice of the nurses and doctor at the hospital (got it done when he was two days old), and just put on Vaseline at every diaper change in like a circular motion (kind of ended up looking like little ice cream dollops).
And then, I was told not to touch it in any other way - especially as little scabs can sometimes form, until his two week checkup, and now, I've been instructed to hold it, and clean just below the tip. I thought I'd be too embarrassed to do it, but when it came down to it, it was nothing
So in summary: I agree with PP, just use as much Vaseline as possible ~
