My SIL and brother decided to go for the amnio tomorrow to rule out any chance of a chromosomal disorder. It was a difficult decision for them, but it will at least get them a definitive answer. Please pray for her and my whole family.

TPS for them if anyone gets where they are, it's me. Thy are probably terrified. We were! If they do end up getting a diagnosis of Down syndrome please direct them to my blog or the Down syndrome board on BabyCenter. It can help to see other families who have been in their shoes and really and truly are happy with how things turned out.

Goldenleaves! I've been thinking about you so much the past 2 days and YOU are really the one I wanted to hear from. You're right-- you know exactly what they're going through right now.
Thank you for responding. I'll keep in touch.

I'm glad I saw your post! Seriously, I'm praying for them. This is a hard road to travel. For me it got better once we knew what we were dealing with. If someone has told me at the time of our amnio where we would be today I never would've believed it. My life and my heart are so full and Lauren is the perfect addition for our family. I wouldn't take away her extra chromosome even if I could!

So, they opted out of that new blood test that Sooner mentioned? I hope everything works out for them tomorrow!!
They did the blood test also, but the Genetic Counselor said there's a possibility they could get a false positive with it. I don't think they wanted to take the chance at this point. Their nerves are so frayed they just want to know for sure. At our particular doctor, there is a 1/1600 chance of miscarry. To them, it's worth it.
