Trying to Get Pregnant

BFN 7 days after ovidrel then BBP later?

I took an Ovidrel trigger shot 8 days ago and we did the BD the day of and two days after. I tested yesterday to see if it was still in my system and it was a BFN. Dr said to wait and test on day 14. Has anyone tested negative after Ovidrel was out then tested positive later? Wondering if its even worth testing again.

Re: BFN 7 days after ovidrel then BBP later?

  • Not me.  But I've never taken ovidrel.  But if you took the test today and you were triggered 8 days ago, doesn't that make you at most 8 dpo?  If so, then it's too early to get a positive.

Plus, isn't that why you tested now - to see if it was out of your system?  So you expected it to be BFN in hopes that it WILL be a BFP later?

  • I agree with the pp.

Here is a chart from the newbie list on HPT accuracy - you are at most 8 DPO, so it is too early to test, so a negative one means nothing.

    HPT accuracy DPO
    10 dpo : 35%
    11 dpo : 51%
    12 dpo : 62%
    13 dpo : 68%
    14 dpo : 74%
    15 dpo : 80%
    16 dpo : 88%
    17 dpo : 92%
    18 dpo : 99%

    This.

ALso, didn't the dr say to wait till 14 days? So isn't there still a huge chance it will be a BFP?

  • I'll think you'll find that the majority of people that test out their triggers get a BFN before getting a BFP.  Some people whose bodies take longer to process the trigger might see 2 lines all the way through, but you are definitely a long ways from being out at this point.   For my IUIs and first IVF, the trigger was gone by about 7/8 days past trigger.  I got my BFP for IVF at 6dp5dt, so 13 days after trigger.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

No, fertility treatments utilizing a trigger shot have never ended in a pregnancy.

Why would you even post that?

I am hoping its a BFP later I just wondered if it had happened to anyone, I didn't expect to break down an cheat so early so I guess I was a little sad that it was already out,. I was hoping someone had cheated like me and later it came up positive.

Implantation happens between 7-10 dpo, typically. If you are only, at most, 8 dpo, then it's possible that implantation hasn't occurred yet. Wait it out. Good luck.

I don't think you're understanding.  A pregnancy test SHOULD be negative at this stage.  You're basically asking if anyone has every gotten pregnant with fertility treatments.  Of course they have.  Not every one of them has, but many of them.  And they all would have gotten a BFN when they're where you are.
