I received multiple thermometers from my shower and I am wondering if I should keep them all, or return one. One is a pacifier thermometer, one is a 3 in 1 tip thermometer with tips for underarm, rectal, and oral, and then I received a healthcare kit that contains a thermometer (though I dont think that one is very good). Should I return one? If so, which one?
Re: Thermometer Question
We honestly just use a cheapy from walgreens and it works fine

I got a temporal thermometer and I think I remember reading in the booklet that it's for 6+ mo, I wonder how reliable it is on younger than 6 months.

According to the summary of this article in pubmed, the temporal thermometer is more accurate than the tympanic (ear) thermometer in infants under a year, but is LESS accurate than rectal. I'd still probably hang on to the 3-in-1.
I used a temporal one for DD from day 1. I compared it to the other thermometers I had and to the doctors readings and it was always spot on. That's the only one we used now and we'll be using it again. LOVE it!
That's good to know, I was debating buying another thermometer but I'd rather just stick to the one. It seems to work just great on me.. haha

They recommended all temporal thermometer to use during our birth class. I'm planning to get the on BRU has on sale during Black Friday. If I can't get it at BRU, I'll price match it at Wal-Mart.

This is what I have as well, but do have another "regular" one I can use for a newborn for rectal temps.
Oh! Good to know!
