I posted a month back about Christmas main courses and you ladies all said to do ham, but now I need some ideas for some yummy side dishes. I am already doing a green bean casserole, but I wanted to do something a little different, not like traditional mashed potatoes. Anyone have any suggestions or recipes they would like to share? TIA!
Re: Christmas Dinner Side Dishes...suggestions, please!
Mac and cheese balls? (Use a muffin tin)
And I post about this one a lot, because it's a family favorite - baked apples. Peel, core, and slice a bunch of apples. Put them in a glass baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add just enough water to cover the bottom. Cover with foil and bake until soft (anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on temperatuer and size of apple slices).
Jack Stack cheesy corn!!

Sorry, IDK why that isn't a clicky.
I made perogies with bacon to go with our ham last year when it was just the 3 of us for Christmas.
I also made DH scalloped potatoes from a box but I don't recommend that.
I like a cheesy hashbrown casserole as a side dish with ham.
Recipes are easy to find online. Basic ingredients are hashbrowns, sour cream, cream-of-whateveryoulike soup (I like mushroom), cheddar cheese, onion (optional), and some kind of crust on top. I make mine with corn flakes and butter.
Ooooo cheesy potatoes! My vote's for this.
This sounds AMAZING. Everyone's ideas are awesome. Thanks, ladies. I knew I could count on you!
PS My kid would freak if I made mac and cheese balls!!!
