Those of you who have done or are doing IVF?

 After the huge disastrous fail of our last IVF/ICSI no transfer :(  I am seeking information on other protocols if we ever cycle again.  Can you please let me know what you are using or have used and why?  I was on long lupron with BCP and have low AMH, DOR, and am turning 36 in March.

What protocol you were/are on and why?

Were you on BCP?

How many eggs retrieved?

How many day transfer and how many embryos?

Any frozens?

Anything you did for egg quality, I have always done acupuncture.

    Sorry again that your cycle failed, but glad to see you doing research on other options!

    As you know, I am in the middle of IVF #2.  My only known issues are a blocked tube and AMA (I was 38.5 for IVF #1 and will be 40 in early March). 

    For IVF #1, we did antagonist: BCPs, Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix.  Retrieved 12, 11 mature, 10 fertilized.  We put 3 back (2 blasts and a morula) at 5 days, and had none to freeze.

    Due to my age, and I believe how out of those 10 embies, I ended up with a singleton and no frosties, I think she changed up with cycle to add the microdose lupron flare to increase quantity and quality.  So, for IVF #2, it is BCPs, Microse Lupron Flare started two days before stims and continuing until told to stop, then Follistim and Menopur, but no Ganirelix.  I have my first follie check tomorrow, and I'll know how well this protocol works in the next couple of weeks.

    ETA: Because I was a slow (but steady!) stimmer (13 days of meds) last time, my RE increased my starting dosage from 150 Follistim and 2 vials of Menopur  to 225 Follistim and 3 vials of Menopur.

    10/10: Married; 5/11: Dx: Blocked Fallopian Tube; 7/11: D&C/Hysteroscopy to remove polyp
    IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
    IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13

    We did an IVF retrieval twice but unfortunately only did a transfer on me one.  But, I have bad linning.  I did get a BFP the time we did the transfer on me, but it ended shortly after.  We then did a frozen transfer on my BFF and we are 34 weeks pregnant now with a carrier!

    The first retrieval cycle, I did BCP to cycle me and then I went on Lupron, baby asprin, estrace, prometrium and the bravelle and menopaur for stimulation.

    We got 12 embroyos and 7 fertilized and were frozen on day 1!

    We ended up doing a 3 day frozen transfer.

    The 2nd cycle I switched to Ganerelix instead of Lupron!

    We ended up with 15 embroyos and froze 10 on day 1 and did a day 3 frozen transfer.

    I did not do anything for egg quality because that was/is not my issue.

    I did one IVF last year...never took BCP...just estrogen...believe it was the estrogen priming antagonist protocol...my AMH was 0.48 at age 36 1/2 and we did our IVF at age 37...

     follistim, menopur, ganirelex, & ovidrel 

    9 eggs retrieved...6 fertilized...3 stopped growing before day 5...cycle cancelled because the other 3 weren't at the right stage...one made it to freeze & given a "cb" quality but that embie is now my little man who is sitting in my arms (we transferred him in January)...

     

    Did take DHEA for a few months prior...and took royal jelly too...also maca root at some point too...and did the wives takes of pineapple core after transfer... 

     Good luck to you...sorry your first cycle was a bust...
