A friend to me is someone that I can lose touch with and start right up even after time has passed, but we keep in touch. With that said I have a ton of old high school friends turned... Acquaintances?! I haven't talked to them in 56 years. Other than that I have a handful of "friends".

These stick around because they get me, and they are not dumb. Being dumb is a big no no.

What do you often find in your "best friends" that make them worthwhile ?  I like that she knows never to ask me for sh.t, but she also knows we'll both be there for each other when it matters. And in 15 years, neither one of us gets butthurt if we don't speak for a while. 

I have plenty of acquaintances.

Friends: I guess around 7.

Best Friends: 3  

My 3 best friends I have known for quite some time, 13 years for 1, 10 years another, and one for about 7 years.

The thing that makes a best friend is that I feel a connection with them that I know will be there for life, no matter the distance.

Every last one of these people lives very far away

I should add that I consider many of you fine ladies friends, though for the purposes of this exercise, I did not include that in my post.
