My nurse called with results of my bloodwork today -- AMH is low and FSH is high.  What a freaking difference 6 months makes.  I was completely unprepared to get a call back on my bloodwork, so I started to cry a bit on the phone.  The nurse tried to make me feel better by telling me I didn't have to worry about any infectious diseases like rubella or chicken pox and that the RE wasn't ready to recommend donor eggs yet. (I didn't get the actual numbers -- I don't know if they will make me feel better or worse).

I was supposed to teach class tonight and punted it -- giving my students the last two hours (of a three hour class) to work on their group projects.  I am pretty bummed out.  I don't know if I should keep this info to myself or tell my husband -- any advice?  I don't want to stress him out any more than necessary.

Ugh -- sorry.  I'm scared to death to know what's happened to my FSH and AMH since they were last tested.  I'd get the numbers if I were you; they might not be as bad as you're imagining, and you'll almost certainly find other ladies on these boards who have gotten pg with similar numbers.  

 As for telling DH -- yes, I personally would (probably after I got the numbers).  You'll need someone to talk to, and I suspect you'll feel better if your husband is fully aware of new info like this.  Good luck, and hugs.

You need the number. Some REs will say FSH is high and in reality, it isn't that bad. FWIW, a friend I met on another board had an FSH level of 18 and is about to have her baby next month at 40.

 And I'm sure it is still lower than mine!

Also, FSH numbers change around each month. They told me that mine was high at 13.6...I got pg on my first iui & I was 39 at the time. Try not to let it all get you down. Just stay positive!

haha forgot to say the second time around (3 years later), my FSH number came back at 3.0!

I agree with others I would ask for the numbers and would tell MH.  He's been incredibly supportive and it's nice to talk to him about things others just can't understand.  I'm sending hugs your way.

Thanks for the kind words!  My husband and I meet with the RE tomorrow after my saline sonogram. 

I did talk to DH, and he said the same thing that lots of us tell ourselves -- we only need one good one!

Just an FYI, while fluctuating numbers may happen, you are only as "good" as your worst FSH number.  Also FSH does not say anything about the "quality", just the quantity.
