I know my girls names aren't every ones style. I'm just curious if these two names JUMP out at anyone as being too matchy. My DD's name is Presley. DH and I agree we like the name Everly for our 2nd daughter. Does it jump out at you why these names might be too matchy? we're not hipsters - I swear!

Kind of, yes.  It's the -ly that makes it sound matchy.

 This was my first thought, Elvis Presley, the -ly endings aren't a huge deal IMO because that's generally a popular ending for girl names.

This was my first thought as well. I find the "-ly" ending a little matchy as well.

They are just a tad matchy with the ending, but not annoyingly so to me. I think otherwise they go well together.

I actually love both these names. But they are both old musicians, so to me that is a bit matchy, unless you and your husband are musicians yourselves. The -ly part doesn't bother me.

Are Presley and Everly really hipster names? Presley is most popular in Oklahoma, Mississippi, Utah, and Nebraska . . . not really places I associate with hipsters.

Yes, I do think they are matchy/cutesy.

i wasnt entirely oncerned with the "ly" ending but rather the musical references to both. That is why i mentioned "hipsters"! 

 

I think we will just move on to something else!
