baby 'talking' ?

DD is 5.5 months.  It always seemed to me that she was quieter than her older sister, but that was 8 years ago so my memory is definitely questionable.  Well, we just fed her for the first time (fun!) and took video.  Later that day, I re-watched the video of her older sister being fed for the first time at 6 months, and the difference in their 'talking' is remarkable.  my older dd was blabbing all over the place, and lo is much quieter and speaks rarely, usually only in the mornings.

She had been starting to talk more, then got a cold with a hoarse voice, and since then she is not talking much at all.  She does love to blow raspberries though!

So how much does your dc 'talk'?  I am wondering if it might be the difference between comparing her video, at 5.5 months with dd's video, at 6 months, and if lo's 'talking' might pick up over the next two weeks.  Or is it something I should be concerned about?  She is doing everything else she should be doing (and more) from a physical perspective.

Re: baby 'talking' ?

  • DS went through a phase around 4 months where he would 'talk' all the time, and after about 2 weeks he stopped. Some days I'll hear him blabbering all the time and others not so much. He does blow a lot of raspberries though lol I love it

  • I think my baby is on the quieter side. He talks some, but not too much, and it's still almost all vowel sounds
