25ppl = X amount of pop?

I need to bring soda, pop, coke.. whatever ya'll call it to Thanksgiving (whoever had a new edition recently gets the easiest job, 'thank you lil DD')

Anyway, I think there is going to be about 25 people. How many 2 liters would you buy?

Re: 25ppl = X amount of pop?

  • Probably three. Sprite, coke, and diet coke.

  • Is there other beverage options like beer and wine?  Coffee?  I would bring 8 just to play it safe.  Better too much then not enough.  BTW I love that you called it pop.

  • It really does depend on your crowd. If you have a bunch of hippy water drinkers you're gonna need a lot less soda than if you're dealing with a bunch of diet coke addicts.

  • I would do 4.  Diet coke, Coke, Sprite, and Root Beer.

There is totally other drinks there! Last time (when I had DS) I was asked to bring pop, and they had pop already there... But yeah, full bar, coffee.. pretty much anything you could think of.

OK, I was thinking 8 as well.

    3 dt.
    2 reg
    1 sprite
    1 Squirt
1 I dunno maybe cherry 7-up or cherry coke..

  • Since your from Michigan, you should do Faygo.

Rock and Rye, Cola, Moon Mist and Ohana Lemonade.  :)

3 total or 3 different kinds?!

cause I was gonna bring 8 but wasn't sure if I was way too high or low.

This.  There will be 20 ppl @ my Mom's for Thanksgiving.  A bunch of them are pop drinkers or will splurge on a pop for the holiday.  My college age nephews would laugh, then shame me if I walked in the door with only 3 2-liter bottles of pop.

  • imageMom2Oli:
I would do 3 too but unless you know somebody who drinks coke, I would do 2 diets and a sprite. At our work things,t he full sugar sodas never get opened.

hum. I think more diet will be drunk vs reg. But when people are mixing cocktails I'm not sure what they'll be mixing with. hum. hum. hum.

  • I'd go with 8

    2 diet coke

    2 reg coke

    2 sprite

2 diet-sierra mist, cranberry ginger ale, etc

I think your numbers are fine, esp. if there are going to be mixed drinks. There is usually around 20 of us when immediate family comes over for a party, we easily go through 6 2L plus coffee, tea, Perrier and juice.

    no hippies.

    for sure some diet addicts.

...and really a bunch of drunks. Not sure if they'll be tipsy off beer or if they'll want my 2liters to mix cocktails. So I want to get stuff good to mix.

If you go by my mom's math, you would bring exactly eight 12 packs and nine 2 liters.

If you go by my math, I'd bring four or five just to be safe.

hehehe. is your mom my MIL?!

Is she going to an ICP concert?

  • I require a 2 liter of coke just for me.

For 25 people, I'd bring 6-8 2 liters and take home only what I drink that's not opened and have other bring home what they like.

3-2 liters is not enough at all. We bring 4 for our unit gatherings and barely have any left over. I would bring 4-5 12 packs.

I was going to bring cans but MIL said to bring 2 liters. I agreed with her that cans are sorta a pain because you have to keep them cold, and if you don't, you have to put them in a cup and pour over ice, in which case you should've just got 2 liters. Also, people get so wasteful with cans. (at least in my experience)

    Totally agree 3 isn't enough...

Yeah, and my family's Thanksgiving is a bunch of lushes and water drinkers. We need tons of beer and wine, but soda? One diet coke, one coke zero, and something for the kiddies is enough.

My family must be different. You throw them in a cooler with ice. They get cold.

Also if you are mixing then your drink is on ice as well so that solves that.

Also people don't properly cover 2 liters so they go flat quickly. Also easier to manage if you have left overs.

I agree with mbenit, I prefer a can coke over a 2 liter. Tastes SOOOOOO much better.

I would lean way more toward 8 th an 3-4.  You might have leftovers but as people are mingling, or after dinner when they're relaxing, they are very likely going to go for refills.

As a matter of fact based on all of the gatherings I have been to my mind is kind of boggled by the 3-4 suggestions.

We usually just have a ton of variety, so not a lot of pop is needed.  I guess it depends on your crowd.

At my DD's birthday party in October we had approx. 30 people and I had four 2-liters in addition to beer, wine, coffee, water, juice and liquor.  By the end of the party the regular coke was almost gone, but the sprite was half full and the root beer and diet were barely touched.

It's actually very interesting to hear about the drinking habits of others!

    /dead.

I do love me some Faygo and buy it in cans for my house...

Also, sadly I've seen ICP (by accident) in a battle of the bands thing when I was with my ex and his bro a drummer. Never forget that night. Biggest. Fight. Ever.

  • For my family I would get 6. 2 cokes, 2 sprites, 1 regular Dr. Pepper, 1 diet Dr. Pepper. No one's touching diet coke at our parties.

Like LuckyDad, our circle must be full of lushes. If there's beer, ain't nobody drinking cola.

theres a lot of liquor consumer. That is unless people are hung over, then it's beer... Guess I need to know what people's wed night plans are before I make a decision ;)

actually a glass of coke, coke in a glass bottle is where it's at, can't beat that! Can is second but I was told not to bring cans.

    This.

When I first read the subject line I read 'x amount of poop" because my brain refuses to accept that pop is anything but a sound.

  • I think it really depends on your crowd. My family doesn't drink soda at all really and it's likely that I would bring it and it wouldn't be opened. We drink a lot of seltzer so I'll be buying a case before Thanksgiving knowing we'll go through several bottles of that. We also go through quite a bit of beer and wine plus coffee and tea after dinner. But DHs family drinks quite a bit of soda so they might go through 2-3 bottles. They're picky and have odd tastes though. FIL only drinks cream soda and root beer, SIL only does diet, caffeine free.

  • Wow my family sucks-25 people equals at least 8 2L of soda.  Our crowd is all either preteen/teen (big soda drinking crowd) or adult drinkers (big mixer needing crowd).  We also hang out all.day.long. so we go through a lot of everything!

    I would do...

    3 regular Coke

    1 Diet Coke

    2 Sprite

    1 Root Beer

    1 Orange

    At least!
