Hydration

What kinds of things do you drink to stay hydrated and help with production? I'm not sure I'm worried about my supply, but I do feel like I could possibly be more hydrated. I am absolutely terrible about drinking water, I just don't like it and it gives me heartburn, but I do drink a lot of milk. I can pack away 1/2 a gallon a day, but I don't do it every day. What do you drink? Especially if you don't like water?

Re: Hydration

  • Try propel flavored water. It has great flavor and no heartburn effect. It also has electrolytes to help you hydrate faster and for longer.

  • I am in your boat. I can drink water if I'm very thirsty, but hate sipping it all day. Also, I dislike fake sugar tastes, so I avoid things like crystal light or whatever to flavor my water.

I've been drinking apple juice all day long. You can get it with the reduced sugar or water it down if needed.

Otherwise, the old standbys of a lemon or cucumber in your water might help.

  • I also hate water but I have become obsessed with seltzer.  You can get it in different flavors, like orange, raspberry, or lemon.  Poland Spring makes a good sparkling water drink that I have with me all day and night.  It has zero sugar and zero sodium.
