Mixing furniture colors

Does anyone have any pictures of their nursery where they mixed wood and white furniture?  I found a steal on a PB piece I'm dying to get my hands on but it's a honey oak kind of color.  I'm not crazy about it at all but I also don't feel like I could tackle painting it.  I'm trying to wrap my head around what it would look like to pair a white crib with it.  Any suggestions?

I have a cherry colored crib and a white dresser, and I think it looks great. I prefer a "collected over time" look as opposed to a "bought everything in a matching set" look. I read design books/magazines and it seems like proffessional designers always steer clear of entire matchy collections as well, so I say go for it! Sorry I can't share a picture, but my crib and dresser are at opposite sides of the room and I can't get a good pic of what it looks like together.
