Hello! It's been a while since I posted and I hope everyone is doing well! So, my babies just turned 6 months and the sink is getting too small to bathe them in. I was hoping to get a tub to put in the bathtub that will fit them both in since they are close to sitting up on their own...Any recommendations??
Re: Best bathtub for twins??
We used a regular baby tub until they were almost 3 months and just bathed them one at a time. At 3 months, we switched over to using the bumbo in the tub. They are 9 months today, and still use that EVERY night. It works very well, because even now they can sit up well on their own, but we're not ready to trust them sitting up in a slippery tub. It's nice, because one person can give them a bath.
We thought it was great, because before they say on their own we used the bumb in and out of the tub, though now it's just in the tub. There's a debate amongst some about whether it's safe. We say anything could be questionable if the child isn't watched.
We have the Whale of a Tub and it's worked great for us. I figure we'll be able to use it for another couple of months and my babies just turned 6 months old. We bathe them one at a time. I undress one while DH runs the bath then he bathes the nekkid one while I undress the other one, and then he brings me the clean baby to dry, lotion and dress while he bathes the other one. While I dry, lotion and dress the 2nd baby he gets bottles ready and then we each feed one and then put them both to bed. It's a great system. Our little bathtime assembly line.
When they outgrow their whale tub they'll be able to sit up really well and we'll just bathe them both together in the tub. I already have one of the little spout covers and bathtub toys ready to go. I can't wait. They both LOVE the bath and it will be so cute to see them both splashing together.
We used the Primo Eurobath on our kitchen counter until our girls were about a year old. We generally bathed them one at a time, but we could put both in if there was another set of hands around. After that, one of us generally got in the bathtub with them until we felt comfortable with them sitting by themselves (We have a pretty deep tub so it was difficult to wrangle from the side.)
