I personally don't like the name with an x but if you're truly looking to name him a "Jax" name vs a "Jack" name, go with Jaxon. The "x" and "s" in your spelling makes the name "jacks-son" if you pronounce it the way it's technically spelled.
Thank you! This.

It's not like there are rules about what a NN is...
Unless you ask the baby names board. They have all sorts of weird opinions turned rules when it comes to everything including what is and is not an acceptable nickname for a given name.
Or if you're going to use an 'x' then take out the 's', it's redundant. 'X' makes the same sound as 'cks', so in my head, when I see "Jaxson," I hear "Jack's son." Just saying.
YES! Thank you!! LOL
LO4 was "Jaxon" from 18weeks until the day we left the hospital & had to finalize the birth certificate. Dh decided to spring it on me that he didn't like the name at all, so we went with Gavin.
With that said, it drives me absolutely nuts to see it spelled "Jaxson" for the exact reason you explained. The s just isn't necessary with the x and it makes it look totally ridiculous to me.

I agree with this. I'm a teacher and my students become indignant when you mess up their name. Jackson will look great on a resume.
I have an unique name, Demarchlier, (pronounced Dee-marsh-lee-a), and I am never offended when people can't say it properly, since it is French. I do not think unique names are always nightmares for kids, I love my name!
What I have learned when I tell people my name is that most people don't listen, and can't repeat what they hear. As far as school went I never had to tell someone my name since every other kid in the class would correct the teacher lol!
As far as deciding which name for your child I recommend saying it an writing it a lot to figure out what you like better. I love the name Jax by the way.

Ohh, good point!!! And good point on the resume thing too!! I am begining to think I may need to change my ticker lol
This exactly! I have a background in phonetics so I'm kinda weird about spelling. Jaxson= jacks-son, even though Im sure you wouldn't pronounce it that way. (Totally lurking here btw. I'll be over here officially soon!)
Isn't the phrase getting flack? I've never heard it said getting slack, but maybe it's different in your area or something? Anyway, definitely Jackson.
Jackson. I don't understand the point of Jaxson. It's still pronounced the same, but now there is a superfluous s and a kid who will have to correct the spelling of his name forever.
Obviously you should go with whichever you like best. Personally, I'm not a fan of using unnecessary x's or y's in names. It seems like you're trying too hard to be trendy or original, so I would go with Jackson. But to each their own!

Jackson.
If you really like the "x", I would use Jaxon but drop the s. But I personally prefer the traditional spelling.

As a teacher who comes across all sorts of spellings I'd have to say the Jackson spelling is what I'd use.
GL with whatever you choose!

If you NEED to spell it JAXSON, spell it WITHOUT THE S - JAXON.
Jaxson looks plain stupid
nonetheless, it should be spelled Jackson.

This
Jackson = classy.
Jaxson = trashy.
Just my opinion, but this is what I think.
Another vote for Jackson
DS1: Quinn - 10.22.10 and DS2: Cole - 01.18.13
Definitely Jackson.
Don't name him after Jaxson De Ville.
Jackson. Hands down.
BUT- that's just my opinion.
