I have a new coworker named Alisha.

Except the poor girl's parents decided to spell it Alyisha. That's right. Alyisha.

Unrelated (or is it?)...she's also dumb as rocks. That is all.

    I've only ever seen it spelled Alicia.

    Thought they were being unique, instead they look illiterate and named their daughter /al-ee-ISH-uh/.

    Poor kid.

    I would pronounce it this way as well. Unfortunate.

    HSG: Right tube blocked; unable to clear

    I had a student whose parents spelled it Alyceia (pronounced like Alicia Silverstone).
