BMI

I know some countries have BMI limits.  Poland does not appear to.  However, both my husband and I have high BMIs (hypoglycemia and possible PCOS on my part, and a desk job plus hours of schoolwork for my husband). Has anyone's doctor had given them a hard time with the physical portion of the home study because of a high BMI?

Re: BMI

  • No

DH has high BMI. It has never been an issue, except for that jerk neurologist he saw once. His PCP was fine with it

  • No.  My husband and I both are overweight, and this was never a problem for us.  An agency shouldn't take this into consideration for the homestudy at all, as long as your doctor signs off on your health.  The only place where it may come into play, as you mentioned, is if a specific country you wish to adopt from has guidelines addressing BMI.

  • No, DH and I both have higher BMIs. Our primary care physician who did the physical part of the home study paper work emphasized that despite our weights, we are in excellent health.
