Just wanted to let you guys know that Target was having some issues with their website a couple days ago (don't know if its still going on). My baby shower was last Friday and most of my guest told me that they weren't able to get in to my registry, so I ended up getting stuff that I already had or didn't need. Ughh
I called customer services, and they did confirm that they were having issues but unfortunately they couldn't do anything for me. I think this is very unfair considering the fact that I relied completely on their website and they let me down, I now will have to purchase practically everything on my own and they're not able to even offer an extra coupon or watever!! very disappointing,
Babies R Us is soo much better with their customers...you dont even have to wait for the completion coupon thru mail, they can give it to you by phone.
Re: Target Registry Ventt!!
Also check Amazon before you buy from Target. Sometimes their prices are better without a discount! OR you can make an Amazon registry and set the date as tomorrow and get the 10% right away! Good luck!
That is disappointing but can't you return/exchange the duplicates? At least you could get the money from those items to help you out.
I think Amazon makes you wait like 5 weeks or something after you make your list to actually get the discount. Don't quote me on it, but I think items need to be on there for 5 weeks in order to qualify for the coupon. You might want to double check...
This. I've heard way more people complain about BRU being ridiculous. Yes I would be annoyed, but it's truly not worth you getting all worked up over. Sh!t happens. Technology doesn't work 100% of the time. I had VERY few people buy anything off my registry. Most purchased outfits they thought were cute. Take all the duplicate item's you got and item's you don't want and return them for in store credit to get what you need.
I gave up on Targets registry.
Everytime I put an item i wanted onto my registry list, it would go out of stock or on back-order. It never failed.
I got so fed up with it, I switched to Babies R us and everything went great (:
Not to mention I had no issues with them either, coupons, giftcards, returns, etc.
But when I had to return some items people got me from Target, they gave me HALF of what it originally cost. I had the receipt and everything! It wasn't even open.
I highly suggest anybody who's reading this post to consider Babies R Us.
It's 14 days, so depending on when her EDD is, that could be just as annoying.
When will I receive my discount? But, it's still worth it.
We didn't have any trouble with BRU's registry, but a lot of prices were definitely better elsewhere. I wouldn't stress about the Target one, they're notorious for sucking at registries. I made my registry just for the completion, but I don't even know if I'll be using it because, as PP said, stuff goes in and out of stock way too often.
I agree with this. Nothing works 100% of the time. Just as you're placing the blame on Target for the registry being down right before your shower, the blame could easily be on your guests waiting until the last minute to even look at your registry. They could have easily just gotten you a gift card from the store so you could purchase what you needed from the registry since they could not. I think this is just one of the instances where you just have to suck it up. Return any duplicates.
Stores give you the lowest advertised price from the last 30-90 days (depending on the store) in store credit when you return with a gift receipt or without a receipt. (Some stores are able to track how much the purchaser paid if you have a gift receipt and will give you that amount in store credit.)
If you have the original receipt and are within the return time-frame (usually 30-90 days depending on the store), you will get your full refund in the form you paid. They do this because the store doesn't know when the item was purchased and how much the purchaser spent.
If you are exchanging for the same item, but in a different color/size, or if the originial was defective, then that shouldn't be a problem, but it is an exchange, so you wouldn't get any store credit back.
Kohl's has an interesting policy that you can exchange any item without a receipt for any other item of the same original price. (I don't know about seasonal though.) So, if you got a lot of clothes in name brands that Kohl's carries, it may be worth it to exchange there. Getting store credit is the same deal as above, though... lowest advertised price from the past 30-90 days.
