ROP screening

1. Thanks for your help with thanksgiving! We feel confident not taking the girls to our family gathering is the right move. We will invite small groups of people over a few at a time so we can better control the germs.

2. My girls have an ROP screening next week. The receptionist said wed be there 23 hours. Really!? What can they do to a six week old baby for 23 hours? Do you have any experience with a dilated preemie? I appreciate any and all stories/advice.

Edit:: 2 TO 3 hours! Lol. Not 23. I guess a dash is too much to handle when bumping from an iPhone. :

At our appointments, most of the time is waiting for the eyes to dialate. I think they had us wait 40 minutes or so after the drops were put in. The actual exam took about 15 minutes. We are there for over an hour. So with 3 babies, sounds like it could take that long. Good luck!

We were at our rop appointment about 2hrs most of that was waiting for the patients ahead of us to be done, the dialation took maybe 3540 mins, the actual exam took about 10. Hopefully she meant 2 to 3 hrs when she told you 23.
