I decided to take DD to the childrens hospital (CHEO) because she was just throwing up so often and after you guys said that RSV was not a stomach issue I decided I needed a second opion. The doctor said, "I wonder if they use RSV as short hand for Random Stomach Virus? Because this is no way resembles real RSV." They gave her new pjs (she threw up in the parking lot on the way in), we got her a bit rehydrated and she bounced right back. The doctor said that this is a nasty bug that she has and that she will get sick again soon so they gave her an anti nausea drug that they usually give to chemo patients, "If someone throws up more that 4 times in 8 hours they qualify. You said she has thrown up 4 times in an hour. She gets this drug."
So now DD is as high as a kite, rehydrated, feeling better (for now, the drug lasts for a couple of days) and resting in bed.
So thank you for educating me on RSV so I got a second opinion because at least now I have her hydrated and she has a little something on her stomach.
Re: Thank you interweb friends.
My family doctor is closed on Fridays so we went to a walk-in. We are never going back to that walk in.
