My friends daughter just turned one and recently started getting carsick. She is still rf but she is at her wits end with the vomiting . Any one have and carsickness remidies I could suggest?
I think I have heard of people cracking a window. I haven't experienced this myself, but I would probably forward face rather than deal with puke.
Aria has screamed in her car seat from the time she was a few weeks old. I'm talking bloody murder, throwing up screams. She's had four different car seats. We've tried everything that has been suggested to us by the pedi, family, friends, random strangers at gas stations... Our pedi thinks she's car sick, and it makes sense because I get motion sick SO badly.
The only one we haven't tried is forward facing. I absolutely refuse to do it before the 120, but after we hit it we might consider turning her around. I just think that having a parent that can completely focus on the road while driving is more important than ERF.
Of course, if we ff her in the spring and the screaming doesn't stop, we'll turn her back around.
This has proven to be the biggest cause of anxiety in this parenting adventure so far.
It has zero to do with rf and everything to do with being able to see out the window. She needs her view blocked. I had to do this with my niece that got car sick all the time, and would projectile vomit in my car. I stuck a tea towel in that window to block her view and it worked. She did it both rf once she could really see out the window and when she ff.

This made Aria about 10000 times worse. :[
Eta: not being able to see out makes my motion sickness worse too. I have to be able to see out on planes, cruise ships, vehicles, anything that moves or I'm tossing my cookies.

that would make me so much sicker. FF helped DS's carsickness go away.
Yeah, but could he see out the back window? My neice is 13 now and she can't look out either without losing it, still. The recommendation came from a car seat tech I knew from Toronto (well, still know) 11 years ago, and the car seat lady has talked about it on her blog. It's not the cure all, some people's motion sickness isn't visual triggered, it's motion. If it's visual, this has worked for others. Just one thing to try and if doesn't, then on to the next trick.
