Random thing that bugs me...

A coworker sent an email, very well intentioned, about different charities and how they pay their CEO too much and only $0.01 of every dollar goes to the cause...but THESE wonderful charities put 100% toward the cause.

I hate these emails.  They are always wrong.  First of all, no charity can put 100% of their donations toward the "cause" because they still have administrative expenses...like fundraising!

Second, the data is always so skewed that you can tell it can't be right!

I could go on and on but seriously, do some research before sending out (or forwarding) emails like that.

  • Ha!  My MIL sent the exact email to me last week.  I didn't even read it through ... just deleted it.  The worst thing I could do would be to pass it along. Wink

  • If I have time when I receive emails like that (which, obviously, I have time), I snopes it and "reply to all" by "accident" with the facts debunking the email. I usually quit getting those sorts of emails from the original sender pretty quick. Wink

  • My crazy friend sent out an email about an experiment that was done with two plants, one that was watered with room temp tap water and one that was watered with water heated in a microwave and cooled to room temp. The microwave water plant died from radiation and that just proves that microwaves are awful and we should never use them! Her mom looked it up on snopes, found it wasn't true and replied all. Her mom! Crazy friend replied that she didn't believe snopes, lol.

I don't think I'd have the balls to reply all but I'm impressed with those who do!
