Intro - When did you find out you were expecting more than one?

Hi Mamas of Multiples!

DH and I have an almost 20 month old son  and we just learned at my dating ultrasound that I'm currently carrying two gestational sacs and two yolk sacs.  Based on my ovulation chart I believe I was only around 5wks 3days when I had the ultrasound. I head back to the OB on Nov. 26 for another ultrasound and really hope we'll see two tiny heartbeats. I have been reading a lot about the early potential loss of one :-(

 

How far along were you when you found out you were expecting more than one?

At my 5w6d appointment we learned that we were having triplets. Unfortunately, I did lose one of my babies at 10w4d from unknown causes. However, my twins are absolutely perfect and are doing great despite it all. We even found out today that we are having boys. Try not to worry (as best you can) about early losses and just enjoy your pregnancy. A loss of one baby doesn't mean a loss of both so just take it all a day at a time.

Congrats! We did IUI so our first ultrasound was at 6 weeks. We saw both heartbeats at the time.

Congratulations! What an exciting experience We had an u/s at 6w2d and saw the two sacs and HB. What blessings!

We saw two HBs at our 6 week u/s with the RE. I'm waiting until I am out of the first tri before I really start to believe it. I have ahistoryofmissed m/c. Congratulations and GL!

I had a feeling based on my betas after my IVF cycle, and it was confirmed at 6 weeks during my first us with RE! Congrats.

At six weeks we saw three heartbeats and two sacs. At eight weeks we saw four heartbeats.

I had an idea based on my betas from my IVF cycle. I had an u/s at 6 weeks and was measuring a day or two ahead and we saw flickering heartbeats.

Congratulations! We discovered our twins at my 7w5d u/s.

Thanks everyone for your welcome and comments! I'd love the opportunity to hang out with all of you during this pregnancy! I've been enjoying reading through the threads.

I've been feeling really good so far. Some cramping, but no spotting. Can't wait for the next ultrasound on 11/26!!

Congrats!  We saw two gestational and yolk sacks at 6weeks and then saw two healthy heartbeats at 7.  Good luck to you.  It's a wild ride but it's so much fun

Congratulations and welcome!

I found out at about 7 weeks - I had some spotting and the doctor sent me for an u/s just to be sure the baby was ok - turned out it was babies!  Since I had no reason to suspect multiples I probably wouldn't have found out until my a/s if it weren't for that spotting!

 Try not to worry about the potential for early loss.  There is nothing that you can do to prevent it - you can just hope for the best.  Good luck!

My first u/s was at 5w2d where we saw 2 gestational and 2 yolk sacs. My next u/s was at 6w2d and we saw both HBs.
