Pasta ?

Are you all giving your babies pasta yet? I want to start giving Alex pastina in broth, or just cut up macaroni, but isn't there egg in it? My doc said egg yolks are fine now, but to wait till a year for the whites. But pasta would have the whole egg in it right?

    We give Lucia pasta.  The American Academy of Pediatrics says the whole egg is fine - I think just the egg yolks is an outdated rule.  Is there a specific reason your doc says to wait?  (Like a family allergy or something).

    Hmm, good to know. I hadn't actually looked it up yet, just went by what she had said. My husband and I aren't very allergic (I have a mild reaction to fish and that's it). Though she's young, she's on the conservative side, so maybe that's why. I'll double check in 2 weeks at our next appt.

    Yep, he's had spaghetti and Mac and cheese. I think whole eggs are fine too...Ian loves scrambled eggs!

    Yup. She LOVES it. But because there isn't a whole ton of nutritional value in pasta - I try to limit it to no more than 2-3 times a week and small portions.

    We're Italian. DD has been eating pasta since she was 6mo old, with a variety of different sauces.

    Successful Cycle: 5/12/11 - 1000mg Metformin + 100mg Clomid(late response) + TI = BFP
