I agree with PPs, too.. it does get a little easier.. though, I've been back for 7 weeks and I still feel really "down" some days about being away so much..
Have you thought about discussing P/T options with your employer?
I've considered it.. and, actually even mentioned it to my managers, and semi got an approval.. but, the pay cut just makes it so difficult.. I wouldn't want to put us in a financial situation where we were no longer "comfortable".. plus, in January we'll start with daycare costs, so already a huge chunk of our "flexible spending" $ will be going towards that.. I don't think I could swing paying the DC costs even if I dropped down to 4 days/week..
It is a sucky situation.. I've been posting occasionally on the working mom's board.. you get a decent mix of those who despise working, but have to, and those that choose to work even though they don't "have to".. helps for perspective..
