So we had our 26 week appointment today. It was a little nerve racking as their computers were down so we were there for 4 hours.
We had our first growth scan since our a/s at 21 weeks and the boys are getting huge. Fundal height measurement came in today at 40 weeks... holy cow! Baby A came in at 2lbs 7oz and Baby B came in at 2lbs 4oz. Both are measuring around 28 weeks (I know this can be off). The doctor was in the room for the scan and was very surprised at how active they were and especially how active they were towards each other. They actually did a baby fist bump a few times during the u/s. He said they seem to be very aware the other is there. There were also times they tried to kick the ultrasound wand off my belly. Also both are now head down!!!! I know they still have plenty of time to turn again and again but just to know that they are not still transverse made me very happy.
The only concern he had was it appears as the placentas have fused. He said it is not too big of a deal but just means we need to monitor it on future scans. He also said we won't know for absolute certainty if they fused until they are delivered. He also said the boys have dropped lower but he attributes this to them going from transverse to head down. The awesome news is on the trans u/s my cervix was long and closed.
He said my hips appear to be showing signs of SPD (I have had a lot of discomfort in this area) but that it was almost unavoidable in a multiple pregnancy. He gave me little stretches and exercises I can do to help lessen the discomfort associated with it. I am also now on prescription acid reflux meds and have a really nice pair of compression hose! Those I must say are very sexy!
All in all everything was great news. Our next appointment is at 28 weeks where I will do the 1 hour glucose and then go upstairs to see the MFM. After that we will do another appointment at 30 weeks then go weekly until delivery. Just very thankful that everything today looked great. Everything is starting to seem not so far away anymore.
