DD won't nap :(

She is clearly exhausted yet for some reason she will not go to sleep! It's driving me nuts. Yesterday she woke up at 9:30am, didn't nap once and was still bouncing off the walls at 11pm!!! I don't know if I can deal with that again, I'm so freaking exhausted... mama needs a nap.

Re: DD won't nap :(

  • When do you try to get her down for a nap?  Do you have a nap routine?  DD goes in her sleep sack, has a bottle then paci and has her sound machine on.  She seems to know those are the cues for sleep times.

  • This was us for the last few days. DD was just playing in her crib at nap time so I was going in and getting her.  Yesterday afternoon I left her in there for a while and she eventually fell asleep.  Same thing this morning.  If your DD isn't hysterically crying in her crib maybe you could leave her for a while and she'll go to sleep?

  • We don't have a set "nap time" but she tends to nap at roughly the same times every day and I just watch for her to give me cues, but as soon as I pick her up and put her blankie on my shoulder she snuggles in and knows it's time for a nap. She gets her blankie, paci, teddy bear and sound machine... normally that's enough but she just wasn't taking to it. She just sat in there babbling for a while and then she started screaming.

Today she's back on schedule though, thank god!
