So my DD turned 4 months yesterday. For several reasons including the fact that she WAAAAYYYY over eats her formula, the pedi told me to start her on solids, starting with cereal, and working up to 3 meals a day. Well. We have tried for the past 3 days and every time I put some in her mouth, she starts bawling and eventually spits it out. At first I thought she was tired but she does it every time. I know she likes it because if I put it in a bottle with more formula, she takes it just fine.
I'm assuming maybe she isn't ready, but who knows. Anyone else have any experiences? My DS loved his cereal from the first try to I never had this issue!
Re: I know...another solids question
Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.
Yeah that too. You shouldn't be trying it when she is really hungry because she'll just get frustrated.
Thanks guys for the advice! I do give her half a bottle before hand so I know she isn't starving, but still hungry enough that she should still want to eat. I'll try it a few more days and if we are still having issues maybe wait a week and try again. Or maybe try another food.
DS hated rice cereal and so we tried oatmeal... and he hated it too. Then I mixed it with apple sauce instead and he ate it just fine. Have you actually tasted that stuff? It is disgusting and I don't blame DS for not wanting to eat it plain. He also didn't like it if it was too liquidy.
