Just curious?where is everyone?s babies as far as milestones go at this point?

My husband wanted me to ask. Our son is 8 months and still army crawls  (haven?t seen him push his stomach off the ground yet), sits up ? but cannot get into the sit-up position by himself, loves to bounce and will stand up if we hold him up but he doesn?t pull himself up on things yet. We have no teeth, and have not said dada or mama yet. Mind you he was born a year early. Just curious!!!

Are they supposed to be copying our facial expressions at this point? This is my first so I haven?t the slightest!

TIA!

Claire only army crawls too. She can pull up on her own and is trying to get brave on me by walking around the coffee table. She let go last night and busted her bottom so I dont think she will be trying that again. Her bottom two teeth are in and we have one working its way in on the top. She will say mama or hey sometimes but she isnt a real big talker. Claire is waving at things and starting to laugh out loud and scream at things. She hasnt really started copying our facial expressions but my child can give you the mean look with her eyebrows lol. She also does this thing were she sucks in her top lips and walks around with the bottom lip stuck out. Its the funniest looking thing I have ever seen.

Cute!! We are not waving but he does like to sit and slap his hand down on the hardwood or when he's in his highchair. Hahaha sounds like she's working on a pout face :)

Jonathan pulled himself up to stand at 7months; but he wasn't able to get into sit position by himself, and he was still army crawling. A week or two before he turned 8 months, he started crawling on all fours, sitting, and he just got two teeth last week.

I am not sure about copying our facial expressions, even though he has lots of his own, and he has this weird obsession with his tongue. lol. Always sticking it out or touching it, he thinks it's hilarious!

He babbles a lot, screams to get your attention, says dadada and mamama, but he doesn't say it to us; just makes the sounds.

He doesn't wave or clap his hands, i been trying to clap and wave, to see if he will pick it up and i am trying to teach him kiss, but he just opens his mouth and tries to bite.

Lol, Mcgeeva...I'm guessing you mean your LO was born a month early. Thinking about being a year early is cracking me up :)

DD is crawling like crazy and has been for a little over a month now. In the last couple days she has figured out how to get herself in a sitting position. She is babbling, but I don't think she knows what mama and dada means. She doesn't wave or clap yet. I do love the big slobbery kisses I get!

I JUST noticed (like 5 min ago) that she is getting her first tooth. I can sort of feel it above the gum line.  I also caught her trying to stand in her crib this afternoon, but the sleep sack wouldn't let her do anything but kneel. Big day for us!

My DS is a bit older than yours, so keep that in mind.  He was also born at 36 weeks so he was a little behind at first but he's pretty much caught up.

DS started actually crawling a couple of weeks ago (just past the 8 month mark) but the little girl at daycare with him who is the same age was army crawling up until the beginning of this week, so don't stress about that.  He sits on his own (but the little girl at DC is not doing that yet).  He pulls himself to standing every opportunity he has, but that's new in the past week or so.  No teeth here either.  He babbles dadadada but indiscriminately (not directly to DH).  I have no idea about copying facial expressions.

Regarding teeth, I believe you said your DS was born early.  My pedi told us that teeth are one of the things that are consistent with gestational age, even if they're caught up with everything else.  So, in my case, even though my DS is nearly 9 months old, gestationally he's nearly 8 months, so that may be why he doesn't have teeth.

Have you seen the BabyCenter milestones chart?  I really like it and it reassures me when I get stressed about whether DS is where he should be.

Haha yes I definitely meant to say a month :) I can not wait to go in to my son's room and see him sitting there. Have you guys already had to put up all the baby gates now that they are moving? I need to do it soon just incase since I've caught my son with the dog's bone in his mouth and then going for a kibble. Guess everyone grows at different rates. My husband is so worried about autism and other issues even before I had my son so he wants to make sure we aren't too far behind.

Thank you this definitely makes me feel better!! Never thought teeth would be behind as well. Crazy. I'm going to look at that chart now!

DD is 7.5 months. She isn't crawling but she has been rocking on all fours for a couple of weeks now. She got her first 2 teeth at 4 months and has cut 3 more this week. She has been sitting independently for about 2 months but got to sitting for the first time today. She isn't pulling up yet.

Speaking of faces this is Claire's mean face. When she gets mad she makes this face and growls at me.

I think we're right along point with you.  He has this weird army crawl where he actually looks like he's break dancing.  He pushes up on one hand and flails his other hand and legs in the air and shoots himself forward landing on the second arm.  t's kind of hilarious.  He is very verbal, though.  To the point where my other sons' teachers have commented on it.  He's got "bra"(brady) "nih"(nick) "mama" "dada" "hah"(hannah) "lehleh"(lilly).

We have an early intervention specialist come in bi-weekly to work with him.  She said he's pretty much right on point with milestones.  A little ahead with some, a little behind with others.  She likes to remind us to take the milestones with a grain of salt, they're not set in stone.

Chloe is almost 8 months and is sitting, gets up on her knees and rocks back forth, scoots on her tummmy (kind of like Army Crawling), babbles a ton, and is trying to figure out how to be mobile. She is going through the "I want to move but cant so I will be really mad" stage right now. I hope she figures out how to crawl soon b.c she is getting madder at me and herself everyday! :(

Mine is doing the same. Super frusterated towards the end of the night

Josephine sits very well by herself, but cannot get into the sitting position on her own.  She can lean all the way forward to touch her nose to the ground and sit back up but cannot go from laying on her back to sitting.  She does not army crawl or any variant, but she rolls where she wants to go. She can get in a great crawling position but does not yet have any directional momentum.  She babbles mamma but not dada and not really any other consonants yet.  She does not pull up and prefers to not stand.  She has 2 teeth and I am pretty sure she is cutting another any day now.  She randomly clapped during my rendition of If you're happy and you know it the other day but I think daycare works on clapping a lot.  She will hold her own bottle if she feels like it, but not always.  She is on stage 2 foods but hates finger foods so far.

DS gets up on hands and knees, or sometimes toes, and is trying really hard to crawl. He scoots around on his tummy and rolls all over. He sits up on his own but doesn't get himself to sitting. He has his 2 bottom teeth and is teething again now. He babbles a lot but no words yet, and I think he might be starting to copy facial expressions. This morning when I was brushing my teeth he made a puckered lip face, I think he was trying to copy me. It was really cute! He claps and waves goodbye, which is also quite cute.
There are some kids with autism in my DH's family so we are worried about that too. I think you don't really start seeing signs until they're over a year old, though.

Reading all of these responses makes me feel better about my lazy baby. He has teeth, babbles nonstop, is doing great feeding himself finger foods, sits great on his own and can bend over in all positions and easily right himself and regularly pulls himself up on his knees. He hasn't been able to crawl yet and he's getting more and more pissed off about it. The rocking on all fours has turned into frantic floor humping and squawking. He wants it so bad but he just isn't there yet. Soon, I hope (for his sake!).

As far as mobility, I know some if you have mentioned rolling to get around (which he does a little) but his main way of getting where he wants to go is to start from seated position, then he twists his body, outs his hands on the floor and essentially turns himself in circles over and over again by scooting on his butt. It's not exactly quick, but it gets him where he needs to go! Does anyone else have a spinner/scooter?

    DS 8.5 months.

    - 2 bottom from teeth just popped through this week.

    - Also like yesterday he got on his hands and knees and rocked for the first time. Loves to do it!

    - Army crawls... a little.

    - Waves a little.

    - Says: Mama, Dada, Nana.

    - Makes weird scrunched up faces recently

    - Sits great

    - Rolls and twists and pivots to get to where he wants to go

    - "Shares" his toys with you

    - Just started puffs and putting them in his own mouth. Still chokes a little

CAN NOT - pull himself up, crawl, go from laying down to sitting up by himself, hold his own bottle,

I know I might be forgetting some things but I'm tired ;) lol

Ian crawls on hands and knees, sits up, pulls up on everything constantly, will pick up and eat pieces of banana and pancakes (his first two teeth just came through last weekend), and just started clapping by himself at story time yesterday after we did Patty Cake.  He also wakes up about 4 times a night, grr.  I'm convinced that there is truth to the 2nd baby doing everything sooner by watching an older sibling.  My 1st didn't pull up until 8 months or walk until about 11.5 months, but #2 has been pulling up since he was 6 months old!

Georgia is 8 months today.  She has three teeth, soon to be four, but these all came in within the last 3-4 weeks.  She has been crawling for a couple months, much to my dismay.  She is sitting up and can get herself there.  She will pull herself to standing and can stand on her own without holding onto anything for about 10-15 seconds once she steadies herself.  She can feed herself, but that has taken a ton of practice.  She will repeat "baba", "mama", and "gaga".

She isn't clapping yet, or saying "dada".... which is fine by me!  She will wave but it's hit or miss on the right time.

    I miss my baby :(

Eli army crawls. He does get up on his hands and knees, but hasn't figured out he can move that way. He just started clapping and doing 'so big'. He has 7 teeth (crazy, I know). He can sit up by himself, but hasn't figured out how to get to the sitting position from laying down. He is so close, but not there yet. He babbles momma and dadda. He follows me around the house, which is cute.

A will be 8 months at the end of the week.

She crawls, pulls herself up, stands unassisted (like lets go of stuff she pulled up on and can stand), and has taken a step or two a few times, but then falls over, so we're not calling it anything yet, but we're watching her like a hawk to see those first real steps.

She doesn't really talk...  She babbles "dadadada" a lot, has a screechy sound she uses every time she sees one of the cats, and sometimes "mamamama" comes out, but normally she just makes squeaky indistinguishable sounds yet.

She also still hates most solid foods and refuses them.  The exception is spaghetti (no sauce, god help us if it has sauce).  And sometimes she'll chew on apple slices and carrot sticks with her 2 bottom teeth.
