My great-grandma's name was Martha Lydia. I love the name Lydia and think that is what we might go with if we have a girl, but I also love Martha. I just don't know what kind of middle name could go with Martha to make it sound less 80 year old woman. Suggestions??
Re: Old Fashioned First Name + Middle Name Ideas
I went to college with a girl named Martha...so running around out there is a 32 year old named Martha.
Plus a lot of "old lady" names are now the latest crazy--Sadie, Betty, etc. for example.
Or choose a really trendy middle name (Madelyn, Kayla).
Once your daughter gets here, it will be her name and will suit her and you'll forget about it being an "old lady" name.
I love Lydia!
I honestly can not think of a middle name for Martha other than the standard middle names. lol umm...
Martha Ann
Martha Grace
Martha June
Martha Jane
Sorry I am no help.
You are KIDDING me!! If we go with Lydia, Ruth will be out middle name too. That is DH's grandma's name! That is CRAZY!!! I think Lydia Ruth is adorable!
Back to DH's grandma's name...like I said above, it's Ruth, but her middle name is Ann. So Martha Ann would also be cute.
What about Ruth Ann for a middle name, do you do it as one name, Ruthann or RuthAnn or two names? I'm having trouble with that.
I love the old fashion names too, if we have a girl someday (this one is a boy) I really want to incorporate my Grandma's name in there some where - Laverne.
She passed away this last April
I know an 18 year old named Martha.
What about Martha May? I'm considering using May as a middle name since... you know... I'm due in May
I guess that could be kinda goofy though.
First comes love, next comes marriage, then comes...
