I was lurking on November 2012 and came across this post. I find it fascinating! Pictures of the baby just born still covered in the amniotic sac. Apparently her water didn't break! It is the neatest thing to see!

I've heard about this before.  It was on an episode of "I didn't know I was pregnant,"  or something like that.

I've seen pics of a baby born completely in the sac, it was awesome (very weird because it's not what you are used to seeing, but still really cool).  It doesn't happen very often, here is a pic below

My sister was born in her caul, she was born at home and although I was only 4, I can remember everyone's wonder.

My doctor tried to do this when I delivered V. My water never broke and the sac was in tact up until the very end. She had my DH all lined up to take pictures for her to use with her interns. Didn't work out though because it burst during one if my last pushes.

I had never heard of this until a book I read referring to the baby being born as a "caulbearer" and how it's supposed to be a sign of good luck.

I think Jessica Alba's 2nd baby was born like that. Supposedly, that's why they named her Haven, bc she was born in her haven. She mentioned that in an interview I saw.
