F/U to Disabled DH: I am looking to work part time from home

As most have seen my DH will no longer be able to work his current full time job. We own a computer company, so we will be closing due to his back. He will now just be teaching part time. So to help make up the difference I will be looking for a part time job. But I would really like to work from home as DH can't lift our 9 month old and we can't afford to put her in daycare while I am working. If any one has any ideas please send me the info or link. Thank you.

Here is the other post if you missed it and our now confused.  https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/69964253.aspx

Re: F/U to Disabled DH: I am looking to work part time from home

  • Has your husband applied for disability or workman's comp?  Does he have disability insurance?  Have you looked into government subsidies for childcare?

I think that your best bet is to get a job outside the home.

  • WAH jobs are few and far between. You might need to consider going back full time so you can afford daycare and bring in money.
  • I'm so sorry for all you are going through. Just an FYI, but I believe that if one parent is disabled you can qualify for daycare assistance even if you would otherwise be above the threshold for financial assistance. If working f/t won't pay for daycare you definitely should qualify. It's very unlikely that you'll make enough working p/t or from home to bring in a substantial enough income to support a family, so you may need to look into that type of program so you can work f/t and slowly work your way up until you no longer need it.
