I like Isla and was trying to think of other similar names - thought on Itzel or suggestions? DD is Arden Liliana. (I'm half Mexican, but baby will have a non-ethnic / white sounding last name)
I like Isla. I have no idea how to pronounce Itzel (It-zell?) I think she'd spend her whole life telling people how to pronounce it. Isla may run into that a little too, but there are definitely more people who would know how to say Isla.
I love the idea of using a name that represents your background, especially of her last name will not. I'm not sure about Itzel, but what about something like Xochitl? It's pronounced soSHEEL and it means flower. My friends DD has this name and goes by Xochi, prn SOshee. I'm on my phone or I'd search for some other ideas.

I like the idea of using a name to honor your roots, but not a big fan of Itzel. It seems like the ethnic name would be better suited in the MN spot like big sister if you're worried about it clashing with DD's name or your last name.
Here are some names I love, that you might like too: Ximena, Luciana, Daniela, and Valeria.
Re: Thoughts on Itzel?
I don't think Itzel is similar to Isla at all. Isla sounds soft whereas Itzel sounds a bit harsh.
Is there a reason why you wouldn't just use Isla?
Names that I like which are similar to Isla (in my opinion) are Ayla and Myla.
