Best sit & stand stroller? Or any for infant & 3 1/2 yr old?

Hi ladies!  I am WAYYYYY ahead of myself as I'm only 5w pregnant tomorrow and have a history of miscarriage.  But I have a little boy who will be 3 1/2 if all goes well with this pregnancy.  I think I would like to get a sit & stand stroller but am looking for some input and recommendations.  Especially for that age - my son is a pretty small little guy actually, but I have read that some are not very well suited for that much of an age gap.

I looked at a Britax version and I loved how versatile it seemed - but didn't like that if my son wanted to sit it looks like he would have the car seat about two inches from his face.

I know Graco makes several versions but I want something as light weight as possible and as durable, good quality as possible but I don't want to spend a fortune!  The Britax I was looking at which was about $500 was beyond our budget.  Something under $400 would be more in line of what I'd be looking for.  I don't mind paying that much if it's something that I really would get a LOT of use out of and would be good quality.

Thanks in advance!

  • Have you looked at the Joovy Cboose Ultralight! I think they run in the 200 dollar range.

  • Thank you so much - yes, actually that is the one currently at the top of my list.  But I read someone on Amazon mentioning that it was way too small for their 3 year old. So now I am a little nervous if that's going to be a good choice when my son will already be 3 1/2.... so I was kinda looking for other ideas too :)  Thank you though!

  • The weight limit on the stand part is 45 pounds. My 4 yr old still fits well. She only weighs 36 pounds.  Good luk.

  • We also have the Joovy Caboose Ultrlalight...love it!  DS will be 3 in two weeks and is very tall (95%) and he fits just fine.  He does stand a lot more than he sits, though.  My only complaint in that the basket is small, and I can't hang my bag on the handle when DS1 is on the stroller.

  • After a ton of research I went with the ultralight.  I also found it on craigslist for $100 :)
