This is the classic working mom story: On my way home from work yesterday, the nanny called me to say that DS took his first steps. Of course he wouldn't replicate the feat when I got home even though he was doing it a lot according to the nanny. At least she got it on video. Either way we are super excited about it!

    Ditto PP...daycare does not tell us of any "firsts" until we have said something to them about DS doing new things.  That way even if it truly isn't the first time, it's the first time that we see it when he does it for us.

    I agree with the 2 previous posts. Daycare does not tell us any firsts.

    Don't feel bad, I SAH and still missed DS's first steps!!  He waited until my husband was out of town for work and I was in the bathroom helping DD and then took four steps for my mom and aunt!  :-)  It took two days before he would repeat it for me.
