Thanksgiving craft ideas

We will be hosting a "Friends Thanksgiving" this weekend that will include 4 kids between 14 and 18 months and one 9 month old.  I was hoping to come up with a simple Thanksgiving / Holiday craft for them to do to give them something to do.

I was thinking of maybe doing a cinnamon ornament or maybe a holiday coloring (find a free printable online).

Any other semi-clean and neat crafts that wee ones would enjoy doing?

Re: Thanksgiving craft ideas

  • There's always the traditional turkey hand print idea. You trace the child's hand with a brown crayon (or dip it in brown paint). Then draw on a gobbler (ha), stick feet, and glue on some colored feathers.

Look on Pintrest. I have seen a LOT of cute food and craft ideas for fall and Thanksgiving.

  • We are making Thanksgiving crafts with our play group this week.  I traced a tree outline and will let kids color and then glue on foam leaves with glue sticks.  They will also make a pinecone turkey.  I am gluing on the body beforehand and then kids can stick in foam feathers.  I have white glue parents can use if they want the feathers to stay in, but I have been letting DD play with the sample one and just take them in and out.  All of the supplies for 12 kids cost me $2 (foam and glue sticks from dollar store, pinecones free from park)

Very cute (and easy) idea.  Might have to pick up some supplies this week... and head to the back yard!
