I work in a used bookstore. You wouldn't think this would be a problem. I have started 6 books in the last 2 weeks and can not get into any of them. Please help! I need a book to read! I like just about every genre save Romance and Horror.
If you like history, I recommend Mrs. Lincoln. Excellent read that gives you a new perspective on the society in which she was raised and diffuses common misconceptions that have haunted her legacy.
I'm looking forward to watching how she is portrayed in the upcoming Lincoln biopic now that I have this background.
If you're into vampire/erotica/sci-fi stuff, Laurell K Hamilton writes a great series. It's the Anita Blake vampire hunter series. It's already about 15ish books long.
For humor/easy reading I really like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. It's up to 19 books already.
I just read Stephen King's book: 11/22/63 --- I had never read one of his books before and it was actually really good! It wasn't a horror book at all, mystery/suspense.

Another vote for Sarah's Key as well!
Not to take over the post, but who is the author?
