Late Term and Child Loss

Am I crazy?

I've heard before that animals can sense spirits.  I don't know if I even believe in spirits, but I do wonder.

Baby's ashes are in our home.

Our dog has been acting strange since the loss.  He is 7 yrs old and will often (daily) stare at what seems to be nothing.  In the past few weeks, I've noticed him wagging his tail at whatever he is seemingly looking at, and sniffing around it.  I don't see anything or feel anything, but it gives me a sense of peace.

I'm crazy, right?

Re: Am I crazy?

  • I am a very strong believer in spirits and I think that animals and very young children have a special sense that many of us don't have.

  • Not crazy at all. The first night after I brought Zachary's ashes home as soon as I laid down and closed my eyes I could see Zachary (probably around 3-4 yrs old). I was not asleep yet and the image was very real. It brought me an incredible amount of peace.

  • Not crazy at all.  Our dog does the same thing.  He also knows when we're at the cemetery and knows right where to go.  Animals have amazing senses.

  • Ditto PP's. I don't think you're crazy at all. I really believe that animals and small children can sense things that we can't see.

  • I'm another that believes animals and children can sense things that we really can't. When I came home from the hospital, our younger dog slept with me for a week. He never used to sleep in my bed before then. Even now, almost three months later, he follows me around and will sleep by me.
