dilated and effaced at 31 weeks....

last week at my 30 weeks appt my doc said I was maybe a fingertip dilated and getting really soft. well today she said that i am 1cm, she cant touch the presenting baby yet but she didnt want to push to hard. she also said that i am a good 50% effaced. she is hoping i make it 34 weeks. i am wondering what you ladies think? i thought effacement was a sign things were moving so i am wondering how you ladies progressed.. if you were dilated and effaced how quickly did things move for you? I know we are all different, just looking to see how it happened for other people

I have no advice. Hope you babies keep cookin' for a few more weeks. Are you on bedrest?

I started dilating and effacing around the same time and with bedrest I made it to 37 weeks.  Hang in there.  The more you can stay off your feet the better.  GL!

Honestly it's kind of a blur, so I don't remember exactly. But at 31 weeks I was about 2cm dilated (not sure about the effaced part) and I went into preterm labor. They were able to stop it at the hospital. I stayed there for a week and then went home for bed rest. 

Then I made all the way to 36 weeks (when my water broke). You might want to ask about bed rest, or modified bedrest.

I went into PTL at 32w4d, I was 2cm and 50%.  They stopped labor and I stayed the same until my scheduled c/s at 38w (came off of BR and Procardia at 36w), so you could progress or not.

My OB first performed a manual check at 34w. At that time I was 50 effaced, but not dilated. I continued to efface until my last appointment at 36w1d. I was "really thinned out," but not dilated at that appointment. My water broke three hours after I left the office that day.

thanks ladies! the doc hasnt said anything about bedrest yet but i have another appt on friday and im assuming depending on how things are going she may decided that route. i will ask her if thats something i should be doing though!

Even tough they didn't recommend bedrest, I would seriously take it easy. I think you should get as much rest as you possibly can and stay off your feet. Take it easy ;0)

i have been slowing down lately for sure, i spend most of my days in my lazy boy with my feet up!! i could use these little ones to bake a few weeks longer!!!
