We went in for our viability/dating scan today. The technician isn't "allowed" to give us a due date but did say baby is measuring 6w +/- 3d. That's right about where I think I am. Today, per my calendar, is 6w2d. We got to see the baby's heart flutter which was so exciting. With everything that happened last year (www.anc037.blogspot.com) we're just praying to hit each milestone successfully.

Our little bean's heartbeat was at 100 bpm. I'm finding a lot online that says 90-110 is normal but I did find a few sites that say it should be 120. I'm trying to NOT freak out and make myself nervous and just go with 100 bpm being 'normal." Unfortunately, there is nothing "normal" about PgAL brain. 

FX for a successful next 5 weeks, then we'll hit another milestone and can breath a little easier. Then another 5 and a little easier. Then another 4 and even easier.

    Congrats on seeing the heartbeat! Don't freak out about the bpm- I'm sure it is fine!

    100bpm is totally normal for a heart that has just started beating ( which happens right around 6 weeks).  I am glad your results today were positive.

    That sounds like a great appointment. I'd say as long as the heartbeat was in the normal range, try to allow yourself to be at ease. I read your blog and can absolutely understand why you'd be worrisome. I am so sorry that you had to go through what you did. Stay strong and just keep hitting those milestones!!

    Congratulations! 100 is normal. Plus once you actually see a heartbeat your chances of miscarrying go way down!!! Many people can't even see a heartbeat this early on, so you have a fighter in there. Smile

    Congrats!  The heart probably just started beating and it is normal to be lower.  I bet if you went again tomorrow it would be much higher.
