GTKY Monday -- What is your favorite meal and why?

It is definitely almost lunchtime at my house, so let's talk food. What's your favorite meal? Feel free to post pics and recipes! :)

How to post a picture:

  1. Upload the picture to an online gallery (Flickr, Picasa, TinyPic, etc.), your blog, or Facebook.
  2. Right click on the photo and select, "Copy Image Location" (it may be worded differently, but that's the idea).
  3. Click the image insert button in the menu (the little tree).
  4. In the "Image URL" space, paste (ctrl-v) the URL of the image.
  5. Next to "Dimensions," put "350" in the width space (the first space), leaving the height space blank. (if you don't do this, the image might be too giant for us to see it.)
  6. Click "Insert".

  • Today we had pizza rolls. It is that kind of day.

  • I am a sucker for my mom's Thanksgiving... or Christmas... or Easter... It usually all revolves around some kind of roast plus cheesy green bean casserole, baked corn custard, fresh baked rolls, mashed potatoes, and pie. PIE.

    So. Good. Smile

  • My dad's London broil
  • H and I looove food, so many kinds, but this is probably what we eat most often: https://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/smashed-chickpea-avocado-salad-sandwich/. We like to cook up a big batch of chickpeas in the slow cooker and we bake our own bread, too. Then it's just a matter of picking out the perfectly ripe avocados!
  • It totally changes...right now, seeing as its been about 10 months since the last time I've had it, I am totally craving Turkey and all the side dishes.  Give it until after Christmas and I wont want to see turkey for a while...not even deli turkey on sandwiches.

  • On Saturday DH and I had our "last supper" date before we bring our little man home. It was my favorite meal: beer steamed mussels with wilted spinach, roaster garlic and peppers in a salty broth with crusty bread.

Oh my heavens. True love in food form.

Now I need to learn how to cook it b/c we won't be eating our for a while! Mussels scare me though. I'm afraid I'll under cook them and get sick but also worry that I'll over cook and make them too rubbery!
