Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
It sounds like you had a great meeting! How exciting! What's the next step? Do you get to see them again on Wednesday?
Thank you everyone for the well wishes!! We will see them Wednesday and Sunday again at their foster homes. Sunday we will take them to an indoor play place!
They will be home with us in one month from today - for good.
Until then, we will take 3 visits to see them, and 2 we will take them out.
They will come to our house one weekend for a 1 night overnight, and 1 weekend for 2 nights. Then a few days later, they will be home.
We have some paperwork to do, and I have to have Central DCF office approve the placement (since I am an employee). Then I need to get my maternity leave approved, and have D get his time off. We have to get our house ready, and try to find pediatricians and day cares. Somehow I also have to wrap up 20 cases at work in a month too. It is daunting to think about.
Sometimes it is hard to believe, but it is promising when I hear stories like yours. So excited for your family. What an amazing time for all of you - and YAY! for having them home for the holidays!
