Birthday party! /slight vent too

Kaeldra's birthday and party was today! We had some 35 or so people, I had just enough food, my decorations behaved, the cake was awesome and everyone was nice (considering some family drama that's a bonus) I'll probably just share pics for HDBD, I haven't located them all yet. So yay there!

My slight vent, because it will bug me if I don't get it off my chest is MIL didn't come. Apparently she was at the hospital with her father, who we don't have contact with because he abused MIL when she was young. I get that she has issues around this, but I'm just a little irked that she would rather deal with her abusive worthless father than show up to her granddaughters first birthday.

Thanks for listening! I'm going to go back to being happy about my sweethearts first birthday now!

As for your MIL, that's too bad she couldn't have taken a few hours or an hour even, to come celebrate. She could regret not coming later, it's really unfortunate though...
