Im curious to see your responses on this one. Beatrice is a huge family name for us and my mom has been begging us to use it... but Im not so sure.... lol
I'm not a fan. DH really wants to name this LO Beatrice (he likes that it's uncommon but people have all heard it before and it has a great nickname - Bea). I just can't get on board. Not sure why, I like most other "old lady" names, this one just isn't my style.
As for the childhood nn.... what do you think of Bebe, Trish, Reece, Betty or Tris?
Beatrice is a great name. But honestly I think the NNs you have listed are a stretch... seems like they were forced out of the name, and not natural. Bea is the common short form, so I guess Bebe is OK....
DH suggested it when we were name-storming but I just couldn't get on board. I already responded to your Eloise post but that is the name we chose instead!
I think this name is cute but I like old fashioned sounding names. I could see naming a little girl this and calling her Bea or Bug when she was small as a cute little baby nickname.
The first thing I thought of was Beezus from the Beverly Cleary "Ramona" book series though. : )
Re: Beatrice
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
I'm not crazy about it.
Thanks all.

I love Bebe and Betty!
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.

I like Bea over the nicknames above. You could always do Bee, too.

LOVE this name. One of my top female names. I love the nickname's Bea and Betty.
It's such a classic and oldie!
