Alice woke up for her 6:30 feeding this morning, and I was so tired I couldn't hardly see straight. So I warmed the bottle, got the diaper, and woke up the husband. All the man had to do was feed, burp, and change her. Swaddle her and rock her a bit and put her back in the cradle. ::sigh:: He fed her and changed her just fine. He half attempted to burp her, and when she fell asleep on his shoulder, he just wrapped a blanket around her - feet and hands out - and put her back in the cradle. by the time he got her down though, she was wide awake. So obviously she started fussing, and he got his panties in a twist about how he just doesn't do it right. So I got her and burped her. She promptly fell asleep and is currently snoozing away.
And of course now I'm wide awake. Awesome.
Re: Oh husband.
Oh that's obnoxious. Luckily, Husband is good at lots of other things with her. He's the only one that can give her a bath. Seriously, she screams when I try, sleeps when he does it. They play together really well. He can soothe her when she's all riled up at me in no time at all. But when it comes to burping, he's afraid he's going to hurt her if he pats on her back with any gumption at all. so he just barely touches her and gets all annoyed when she doesn't burp.

Oh husband is right!
I can't stand those times when you get woken up at just the right time so it's debatable whether you bother going back to sleep for like 30 more minutes or if you just cut your losses and get up early....makes me so grumpy!
Hold his feet to the fire! Don't let him get away with feigning incompetence! lol!
