Smacking himself in the head

Lately when DS gets mad or frustrated he has been smacking himself on the side of his head. He'll do it 4 or 5 times. Or if he's holding a toy or some other object he'll hit himself in the head with it. Is anyone else's LO doing this? I'm not gonna lie. I find it pretty disturbing.

Yep. He flails and falls backwards hitting his head on the floor too. And there's been some hair pulling (the three little pieces he has lol).

Wes doesn't do this, but it's totally normal, toddler tantrum'y behavior. If somewhat disturbing.

Thanks ladies. Glad to see it's pretty common behavior. I was expecting the "throw yourself on the floor kicking and screaming" type tantrums. The hitting in the head caught me off guard though.

Wait until he starts smacking you lol. Definitely totally normal.

Totally normal, just ignore it.

My DD does it also. Glad to know she isn't the only one. She does seem to be growing out of it. (fingers crossed)
